President Smith’s counsel was:

“I think you are a very generous man with someone else’s property. …

“… You have told me what you have done with the Lord’s money but you have not told me that you have given anyone a penny of your own. He is the best partner you have in the world. He gives you everything you have, even the air you breathe. He has said you should take one-tenth of what comes to you and give it to the Church as directed by the Lord. You haven’t done that; you have taken your best partner’s money, and have given it away.” ¹⁷

Inadequacy

Feelings of inadequacy is from Satan.   I feel so overwhelmed by school, work, church,  and family.   I need to do better as a wife,  mother,  disciple of God,  student,  and  teacher in that order.   Stick to me schedule and I should be fine

Missionary

Missionary work is easy when the Lord opens your mouth. I went to get my semi-annual mammogram at Stanford. The mammographer and I started talking. She was Filipino so I told her about Marissa going to the LDS Olongapo mission. She had helped me previously and I remembered she had four sons. We started talking about our kids. I mentioned Marissa went to BYU and Calen attends their now. Because we are Filipino, cost came up and being such so affordable, BYU piqued her interest. I mentioned she should look into becoming a member. We then discussed the difference between Catholicism and Mormonism. We talked about the priesthood, speakers, word of wisdom, mutual, the distribution center, and the movie, "Meet the Mormons". I hope the best that she looks into it and thinks this is for her as well. But I felt so exhilarated after speaking with her. I realized that baring my testimony helped me as much as I hope it helped her. To be continued.

Marissa got called to the Olangopo City Phillipines Mission

I cry tears of joy, happiness, spiritual humility. My daughter is being sent to serve the people of my homeland! A place where both my brothers wanted to do that served the Lord. I felt Bapa's hand in this. I knew with a surety that this is where Heavenly Father wants her to go. She will grow immensely and she will meet so many people that will touch my family's life. As she shares her experience, her testimony will reveal to those that don't believe the presence of Him on this earth. I hope that I can be the best person so I can be a great influence to those around me and open up about being a missionary mom and share my daughter's letters to those that it could touch!

First and greatest commandment

Love One Another and Worry about you When Heavenly Father gives me a commandment, it is up to me to follow it. I want to give others the opportunity to learn about the commandment and follow it for themselves. First and greatest commandment I need to follow is to love one another. If that is my guiding principle then everything else will follow. I recently felt very judged by people I thought were my friends. What I realized was that all of us have a check list in our heads and if we follow that checklist we are saved and will be fine but what we forget is that first guiding principle "Love one Another" and second "Love your neighbor as thyself".Everything including our checklist falls after these two commandments. I was very hurt when this event transpired but now I have to practice what I preach and just love my friends and treat them like what I want to be treated.
